Copyright is a form of protection to an authors work such as music, pictures, videos, writing. I found an article called "US shuts down popular file sharing website megaupload.com".Basically megaupload.com was a filesharing website that people used to pirate music and movies.Megaupload generated more than $175 million in criminal proceeds and caused more than half a billion dollars in harm to copyright owners. This was the largest criminal case ever brought by the US and directly targets the misuse of a public content storage and distribution site to commit and facilitate intellectual property crime.

Privacy on the internet has been a growing issue for quite some time now. More people are using the internet

and social media websites. These people are posting information on these sites that they would not want

everyone in the world knowing. In my opinion you shouldn't really post every detail about your life unless

your asking for trouble. However, we're losing privacy beyond the internet. Basically the only privacy you

have these days is within your own home. For me personally i really don't care about privacy unless it is

threatening me. Privacy on the internet will continue to be a growing problem until people relize that posting every bit  of information on websites is a bad idea. In the article "Facebook Privacy Is So Confusing Even
the Zuckerberg Family Photo Isn't Private", it discusses how facebook's privacy settings are confusing especially for not so technology friendly users.

Twitter

I prefer blackboard and blogger for conversations rather than twitter. Mostly because i feel twitter is just sharing quick details of your life with your followers not designed for in dept conversations.

I followed chipotle because its my favorite fast food place. Most of their tweets were interacting with their followers.

Social Media

Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. Iv personally been on a few social media sites such as Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter. They are a great way for people to interact without being together in real life.  Facebook has probable been the best one so far since its really simple and it allows you to share your life with your friends.

A virtual world is an online community that takes the form of a computer-based simulated environment through which users can interact with one another and use and create objects. It is basically a separate world where you can be whatever you want. In the article "Going to the virtual office in Second Life", companies are using virtual worlds to do meetings instead of having people fly to a particular area. This is a great idea because it makes it easy and cheap.

World Wide Web

I feel like the future of internet is completely unpredictable. I feel that everything will be connected. For example, Facebook, Youtube and Google might be connected under the same account. I hope the security improves in the future and creates ways of keeping your privacy safe. 

The cloud is sort of a online database of all your personal documents and an area where you can use word processing software. In the article "The Windy City Teams with Microsoft on Cloud Strategy" it says the Chicago offices will use the Cloud to access Mircosoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Lync and Onenote and it will save the city alot of money. Instead of buying thousands of copies of Mircosoft office, they can buy a license and use it with a large amount of employees. 

Networks and Communication

Advantages of communication technologies is that their quick and easy. These days you don't have to write a formal letter to communicate with someone hundreds of miles away. Instead, you can just pick up your smart phone and email, text, or call them.  Although there are many advantages our new form of communication comes with disadvantages. In my opinion, this new era of communication has taken away the emotion and person interaction which are important. They are making people lazier. .

I've dealt with spam, phishing, and texting while driving first hand. In the article "BBB: New Wave of" Phishing Scams Uses Facebook Info for Personalized Spam" there is a Facebook spam messages that lead you to a website that will give your computer malware.Abusing technologies for criminal activities will always be one step ahead of everyone. All we can do is try to create awareness and keep advancing our security 
systems. On the internet if something looks to good to be true it usually is. For example, the Nigerian prince that needs your bank account information to transfer money to you for no reason is a popular phishing method through email which i have personally experienced.
